Stoke city defender hails his team after a massive wins in their last game against Watford.
Stoke have been struggling near the foot of the table in recent weeks and went into the game on the back of two defeats, including the 7-2 thrashing at Manchester City.
But Darren Fletcher's first goal for Stoke eased the pressure on Mark Hughes and lifted the team up to thirteenth.
Wimmer told the club's official website: "It was a massive three points for us. We know Watford is a hard place to go, especially this season, they have had a great season so far.
"Last week in the away game at Chelsea they played very well and were unlucky to lose. With the last few results for us over the last couple of weeks it was really important to get three points and keep a clean sheet.
"I think we worked very hard as a team for the whole 90 minutes, we defended well and it was a great feeling to come away with the three points."
Stoke had to spend much of the game defending after Fletcher scored early in the 16th-minute but they created the better chances with Saido Berahino and Charlie Adam both wasting good opportunities.
Watford gave a long-awaited Premier League debut to summer signing Will Hughes who came on for the final 10 minutes as a replacement for Andre Carrillo.
The £8million signing from Derby told the club's website: "It's been a long time coming. I've worked hard this season and haven't been involved as much as I'd like to.
"So it was a nice feeling to get out and make my debut, especially in front of the home crowd."
